Mechelle Avey has a passion for books. She always has. Even as a young girl, when other kids were playing outside, Avey could most often be found in her room curled up with a book. With such a passion for the printed word, it's not surprising that Avey has turned her passion for reading into a passion for writing. Mechelle Avey is the author of A Lifetime Loving You and Deeply. Writing as Aine A. Thang, she is the author of Ms. Thang’s Guide to Fly. Previously the founder and moderator for the AOL™ Multicultural Writers’ Group, Ms. Avey has taught classes on writing culture and ethnic fiction for the highly respected Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ms. Avey’s work has received 4-star reviews from Romantic Times magazine. Ms. Avey is a member of the Loft Multicultural Writers Group. She also serves as the coordinator for the InterAct Arts Program for South Washington County School District 833. As arts coordinator, Ms. Avey interacts with between 80 – 100 students (and their families) in an arts-based program, which she directs. She also serves as managing editor for IAM Magazine and, working with Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Michelle Sugiyama, has compiled and co-edited three InterAct Global Café Cookbooks.
